The Chocolate Box — See’s Piece by Piece #19 — See’s in the Summertime

Summer on WellFedSummer is not the kindest season for mail order chocolates. That’s why See’s Candies has two ways to help you beat the heat and still get the treat: summer selections and summer shipping policies. Plus See’s has some special ways to help celebrate grads, dads and the Fourth of July.

Summer shipping, or “warm weather packaging,” costs a bit more but it makes sure your milk and dark chocolate buttercreams, nougats and patties arrive as distinct delectable candies and not as a melted, drippy glop. See’s applies its warm weather packaging until about October 15th. It features a special reusable cooler box and pack, two day shipping, limited shipping windows (chocolate is only shipped early in the week to be sure it isn’t left languishing over the weekend. More information is available by clicking on the phrase “warm weather packaging” here.

Other signs of summer at See’s Candies’ stores include specials for graduation, Father’s Day and Fourth of July.

For grads, See’s features 12 ounces of assorted chocolates in a graduation cap box complete with tassel.grad

In honor of dear old dad See’s is offering a special Father’s Day Memory Box filled with 10 ounces of assorted chocolates with a photo frame on the lid. Or maybe get dad some of See’s fine chocolate “See’s-gars.” These thick and creamy “cigars” of solid milk chocolate are not currently available on the website, but they are available at the chain’s more than 200 stores. What could be more American than celebrating the Fourth of July with See’s Apple Pie Truffle? canes This candy, piece number 48 on the website and in the catalog is filled with buttercream, Granny Smith apples and cinnamon and doesn’t require See’s special summer packaging. If that doesn’t get your rockets red glare, See’s offers some red, white and blue stripped cherry flavored candy sticks and specially decorated, foil wrapped milk chocolate balls for the holiday.
