Fudgsicle And Creamsicle Candy Twists

FUDGSICLE AND CREAMSICLE CANDY TWISTS
I had high hopes for these when I spotted them at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago. I bought the Fudgsicle flavor and my friend Lizzy bought the Peaches ‘N Cream, with the plan of swapping taste-for-taste.
But one taste is all we got around to swapping. I enjoy a Red Vine as much as anyone, and I REALLY enjoy a Fudgsicle or a Creamsicle….so I couldn’t imagine that they wouldn’t taste at least a little bit good. To be fair, they didn’t taste a little bit BAD, either. It’s just that they didn’t really taste at all. They were extremely bland and the texture was more plastic-like than a Red Vine. I haven’t had a Twizzler since The 1980’s , so I’m not sure how it stacks up in comparison to that particular brand of “candy twist.”
Additionally, I wondered why they chose to make Peaches ‘N Cream rather than the classic Orange Creamsicle. But again, seeing as how I could barely detect any flavor, I don’t know that this would have made much difference.
To make up for the fact that I have altogether panned this misguided foray by the Popsicle brand into the non-frozen confection arena, I feel the need to stress that POPSICLES RULE! Popsicles, Fudgsicles, Firecrackers and Pudding Pops… I’ve spent my life loving them.
So here’s my advice. Buy a box of the “Cicle” of your choice and a pack of Red Vines and save yourself the disappointment.
Hey, I’m just doing my part to dodge the bullets for you all. Takin’ one for the team.

There is an orangsicle version. I saw them at the All Candy Expo and just couldn’t bring myself to take a sample.
I’ve had cheapo “chocolate vines” before and they’re just horrible. You’re doing a great public service here.
