I'm an avid hiker and backpacker, which means I'm an avid customer of Trader Joe's. Stocking up there for a trip a few months ago I picked up a small box of Jelly Bellys at the counter. Ten minutes after gobbling a couple handfuls on a particularly grueling slope I found myself easily gliding up the mountain. Though it's no secret the sugar rush had everything to do with my sudden energy boost I've since included a box on every hike. So, I'll be climbing in Red Rocks near Vegas Saturday (Halloween) and thought it appropriate I switch to candy corn for the day. Google steered me here and I'm thrilled to see the best is just up the street at Target. Thanks!

Love your CC article. Never been a real CC fan until I tasted the Chocolate Corn Candy. While collecting payment for chaperoning my son's Holloween escapade a few years back.
Honorable Mention to those most delightful morsel. A welcomed refreshing spin to the nasty irresistable clumps of refined sugar that can simultaneously send the healthiest bodies into a diabetic coma and decay a porcelain enamel tooth. My witches hat goes off to them. Yum!

Kathy:
Not knowing where you live, I can't really answer that question. I live in Portland, OR and they sell it Fred Meyer - a local store. But like I wrote in the article, Zachary manufactures Target's house brand, so it's the same stuff. I'm guessing you have Target where you live? If you really want Zachary's - try contacting them through their website to see where they sell in your area.

Good luck - and happy candy corn season!

Jeff: Yeah - Jelly Belly is remarkably inferior to the rest, and even more inpalatable due to their flagrantly inflated price. It's a disgrace how much they charge for it - and unbelievably, people pay it!

Steph: Thanks! I'm very impressed at your stamina - you show very strong candy corn endurance. Keep up the good work!

Funny article. I'm surprsied Jelly Belly did so bad, but I'm not surprised Zachary scored higher than Brach's.

It's about that time of the year again...
