Stocking up there for a trip a few months ago I picked up a small box of Jelly Bellys at the counter. Ten minutes after gobbling a couple handfuls on a particularly grueling slope I found myself easily gliding up the mountain. Though it's no secret the sugar rush had everything to do with my sudden energy boost I've since included a box on every hike. So, I'll be climbing in Red Rocks near Vegas Saturday (Halloween) and thought it appropriate I switch to candy corn for the day.
