Elvis Inspired Reese’s Cups

I seriously thought someone was trying to be funny when I read that Hershey has just introduced a limited edition Elvis Presley Reese’s Cup.  There is no mention of the limited edition Reese’s Cups on Hershey’s website, but I read about the Elvis inspired cups at JunkFoodBlog.  The blog gives no information on where the candy is sold, just that it is available in the US.  Perhaps these Elvis Reese’s Cups are now the offical candy of Grace Land?

elvis-reeses.jpgThe limited edition Elvis Reese’s Cups seem like a bit of an odd flavor combination to me.  I’m not sure how much of a hurry I am in to give them a taste test.  It’s known worldwide that Elvis loved fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, which I have to admit is a pretty tasty combination.  Not to mention that chocolate and banana is too.  And of course chocolate and peanut butter is heavenly.  But a Reese’s Cup with a filling of peanut butter and banana creme?  I think maybe it’s the creme part that throws me off.  It just sounds so…artificial.

So if you find these limited edition Reese’s Cups inspired by the King drop me a comment, I’d love to hear from you.

This is genius! I cannot believe this wasn’t already made years ago. I don’t know if I really believe it - are we sure someone isn’t messin’ with us? I heart bananas in anything, but artificial banana is pretty horrible. But I’d try it anyway

I’ve tried these at a candy trade show, and they are pretty good. There are actually a couple of varieties, including a “Big Cup” with nuts and the banana creme. I noticed some selling on eBay a while ago if anyone is interested in trying them early.

Hey Aaron, thanks for letting us know! I’m so glad they actually exsist. I would love to taste the Elvis Reeses Cups. Banana, peanut butter and chocolate is such a yummy combo.

I have an unopened package of these elvis reese’s cups. I was working for a homeowner who works for the Hershey company here in PA. I plan to hang on to them. Hoping to get some cash in exchange for them year down the road.

I have a box of these (24 packages), but mine have a promotional banner printed on the front that says “Live Like THE KING. Below that it says You could Instantly Win an Elvis tribute car. Look inside to play.”

Inside each package I’ve opened, the words “Not an instant winner” are printed inside. Followed by “Sorry, this one is marked return to sender…”

I’ve only found them at one store, and I bought all they had.

As of July 2007, they’re available at Walgreens in Nashville, TN. But I’m grossed out by the words “banana creme” and have no intention of buying them.

These are AWESOME! About three weeks before they were scheduled to come out in the stores, I found them at Dollar General. I am totally addicted. How do we get them to stay forever????
