The Chocolate Box — See’s Piece-by-Piece #51 — Win a See’s Candies’ Gift Certificate

See'scandiesOne of my favorite parts of writing the See’s Candies Piece-by-Piece in The Chocolate Box is the trivia section.  Each week I feature a fact, tidbit, nugget or even a recipe involving See’s Candies.  So, this week’s post (the penultimate in the See’s Piece-by-Piece series) is a See’s Trivia Contest.  The winner will receive a $25 See’s Candies gift certificate, usable in See’s Candies’ stores or online, from the Well Fed Network.

So test your memory, search the Sugar Savvy site, or go through The Chocolate Box archives and see what your See’s Candies’ Devotion Quotient is.  Please send an email with your answers (number one to 10) with a contact name and email address.  We’ll do a random drawing from all those who have the correct answers (or the most correct if no one gets them all).  Send your email to info@wellfed.net by January 31 at 12pm EST.  Put See’s Contest in the subject line.

1. What year did Charles See start See’s Candies and begin selling his products in Los Angeles, CA?

2. What was the name of Charles’ mother, who provided the company’s first recipes?

3. What brand of chocolate does See’s Candies use in its confections?

4. What popular TV show featured a scene based on the See’s Candies’ production line?

5. What is the name of the newest milk chocolate candy introduced by See’s?  (Hint: It is a name used for men, women and places.)

6. How many calories in a serving (two pieces) of See’s Candies’ candy?

7. Name of the author of the book See’s Famous Old-Time Candies: A Sweet Story.

8.  Name See’s three flavors of fudge.

9. What brand of sugar does See’s Candies use?

10.  Name the See’s Candies’ confection that has beef as an ingredient.

Look for See’s Piece-by-Piece #52 in February for answers to these questions and a wrap up of the series.
