Cacao Reserve by Hershey’s Premium Dark Chocolate Truffles

I never thought I would see the day when a chocolate by Hershey’s would make me drool and swoon, but I now have. I mean, it’s  Hershey’s! They are an American classic, but it’s more due to their iconic status and cool theme park then their quality product. Right?

February 035

Maybe I was wrong. Maybe they can produce a good chocolate. These truffles sure give my tastebuds a run for their money.
After taking over editing duties here at Sugar Savvy a few weeks ago, I felt like it was my duty to investigate over-the-counter (or rather, easily accessible) dark chocolate. That’s when I stumbled on this little tin of truffles. I figured I would give it a shot and taste it for all the Sugar Savvy readers, even though it’s Hershey’s . . . and I am not a big fan.

Oh boy. These thimble sized truffles are quite yummy. And they are just the right amount of sweet and smooth that you can eat just one or two (but if you eat the whole tin, you are simply having one portion and therefore shouldn’t feel bad). Sure, these aren’t artisinal chocolates and they aren’t even Lindt or Godiva, but they are tasty. And inexpensive. And accessible.

The verdict? Give ‘em a try. They are a tasty bite of smooth chocolate. And remember, dark chocolate is good for you!

I saw an ad for these, but haven’t found them in the store yet - still looking. :)

In case anyone is looking Wal-Mart and Target have them.

I found them at Kroger in Texas. I bought a bar of the dark milk chocolate- yowza! It’s amost a Ghiradelli taste to me.

Thanks for the tips - checked Target today, but no dice. Will look at Wal-Mart later in the week.
