What is old is new again . . .
I find it funny - laugh out loud funny, in fact - when companies introduce a “new” product that isn’t so new. It happens all the time with everything from cartoons (take He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - it was an 80s cartoon, then a live action flick and then got breathed new life in the early 90s. Then a new He-Man series premiered in 2002 and a new live-action movie is supposedly forthcoming . . . ) to movies (The Parent Trap, Sabrina, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly - to name a few) to candy . . .
Candy? you ask . . .
Yes, candy. Like the chocolate covered PayDay bar. It was part of the line in the late 70s or early 80s. It earned the distinction of being a favorite of my husband’s. However for years and years, it was absent from the lineup. But sometime last year it returned, though I was unable to locate it at the time. Then recently I finally located a similar “healthy” version called PayDay Avalanche. Apparently there is larger lineup of PayDays out there then I see usually - check out the lineup here.

I’m pretty sure the old chocolate Paydays were real chocolate. The new “avalanche” variety is mockolate. There was a limited edition about 18 months ago before the release of the Avalanches that did have real chocolate on it … I could only find it in King size and then it was gone.
