Orbit Mojito Mint

Orbit Mint Mojito Gum

First, let me tell you that this gum is very good. It’s minty and limey and the flavor lasts a long time, as far as chewing gum goes. It does fall short of a true mojito experience in that there is absolutely NO rum involved (por que?), but it’s easily the best new gum flavor I’ve had the pleasure of chewing in years. And yes, that includes Hershey’s Chocolate Bubble Yum.

It tastes not unlike the Quench Sport Gum that I would buy at the sporting goods store near my house growing up.  Except for the fact that the flavor lasts much longer than the maddeningly 5-second life span of Quench.  (Man, I got burned EVERY time with that fleeting flavor rush.  So mouthwateringy tangy and sweet and then, just like that…splitsville.  Bland as a rubberband.  Damn Quench!)

So now, after having experienced the pleasing marriage of tart lime and crisp spearmint featured in Orbit Mint Mojito, my mind is swimming with the possibilities of other libation-inspired gum flavors. White Russian Mint? Sea Breeze Mint? Hell, why stop there? Bloody Mary Mint? Seriously, who wouldn’t welcome the opportunity to chomp, chomp, chomp on the luscious juices of tomatoes, Worcestershire, and Tabaso? Just finish it off with a stick or two of Kentucky Derby Julep Mint and you’re good to go.

Salud!

My sister bought my son a full case of assorted Orbitz as a recent gift and I was so bummed mint mojito wasn’t included. Haven’t seen the flavor in my stores yet, but looking forward to giving it a chew

Faith: So far, I’ve only seen it sold in individual packs, often at the checkout stand with the other impulse buys. I hope you find some soon! I like to mix it with a stick of Extra, either classic bubble flavor or Polar Ice, making a gum cocktail of my own. Yeah, I’m a little sick.

So I’m not alone? Oh, thank god! I thought I was the only one.

Is there, like…a support group or something for people like us? I could have certainly used a twelve step program. You promise you’ll never do it again, but you stop by the local Big 5 and there they are in their little display. So beautiful…so perfect…so tempting

…calling your name, saying “eat me, you know you want to”…

Um, I have to…go do something now.

Well, the other day, I was at CVS and saw a new flavor of Orbitz - “Mint Mojito”. I have always been intrigued by the mojito, but had never had one, so I decided to try the gum. Well, now I believe I am officially addicted. The flavor at the beginning is a little weird, but after a little while it mellows out into almost an herbal mint tea flavor. YUM!

I too am addicted to Mojito gum. I use it as an appetizer before I partake of the real thing. Has Wrigley discontinued this flavor? I’m hooked, and now I can’t find it anywhere. There is no mention of this flavor on their website.

SAY IT AIN’T SO!

Sorry I didn’t see these comments until just now..

Sophist: I know, right? Like a cruel and abusive lover, the Quench gum.

Kat: How’s the addiction going? Are you still able to find it where you are? If so, pass along the info to Minnie (see comment). I haven’t looked for it in awhile - not sure if it’s still being sold in Portland or not.

Minnie : See above. Good luck. I LOVE that you chew Mint Mojito before drinking an actual mojito. Like a little warm-up. I sometimes suck on coffee candies WHILE drinking coffee. Not really the same, but you know…
