Here’s what I think of you and your GODD$MN#D Chocolates!!

Shoot, I think this might just be the saddest thing I’ve seen all week:vdaytrash3.jpg

I actually got a little tear in my eye when I came upon this heartbreaking still-life last night on my way home from a party at my neighborhood wine shop, where I was served fantastic local (to Portland) DePaula chocolates and Spanish Montepulcianos, by the by.

P.S: I checked out the (perfectly sealed and unopened) box - they are Elmer’s Chocolates.

P.P.S: No, I did not pull a Castanza. (Tranlation: I did NOT pull them from the trash heap and eat them.) In case you were wondering…

If they were Elmer’s, I would have tossed them too. Elmer’s is an abomination to real chocolate. Blech.

Did you think, even maybe for a moment, about pulling them out? They are still in plastic.

Tripp: Like Columbus Foodie said, I would’ve tossed ‘em too. Not that I’m too proud to pull something out of the garbage, but it would have to be at LEAST Scharffenberger to merit a surreptitious trash rescue. Even dumpster divers can be discriminating.
