My Favorite Candy: Ashley Watt

EDITOR’S NOTE: My Favorite Candy is a getting-to-know-you feature here on Sugar Savvy to help you learn a little more about the people who write about all things sweet here. Enjoy!

When I open my door to my closet, my flip-flops are just sitting and waiting to be chosen. I have all different colors and styles, but I do have a favorite among them. They have been through a lot with me, and even though I know they are worn out, I just can’t give them up. When I go to check out in a grocery store, I look at the shelves and all the candy bars are waiting to be chosen. But like my flip-flops, I reach for my favorite, the Nestle Crunch Bar. This candy bar has been through a lot with me too. Nights when I have been overly stressed, instead of eating comfort food, I sit down to a Nestle Crunch bar. I let the chocolate goodness console me. When I don’t feel well, I go for one. My mom has even brought me one of the huge Nestle Crunch bars, and I have curled up with it.

Another one of my favorites is a Kit-Kat bar. I am old-fashioned and like the four little scrumptious bars. Eating one at a time and enjoying every little bite. I’ve tried the new big bar, but for some reason, it is not the same to me. Maybe because it’s gone in a few bites.

These two candies are on every shelf, but I find myself always reaching for that Nestle Crunch Bar. If you put either one in the freezer, it is even more mouthwatering.

I live in Tokyo. Nestle Japan has recently released an apple flavored kit kat with extra melty type chocolate. Its amazing and I can never find it anywhere because its so popular.
