My father introduce the Skybar to me in 1991 and I will pay an arm and a leg to enjoy the Skybar. This summer my wife and I enjoyed a trip to Maine and came back with a complete box of Skybars to enjoy.

Like Elaine Ulm, I remember the Skybar to be very tasty and satisfying. As a teenager in the fifties, I chowed down more than my share of them! I like the fudge flavor best and it really tasted like chocolate fudge! The other flavors were equally good although I liked the vanilla least. If Skybars taste different from what I remember, I'm sorry others could not have tasted them back in the fifties--when everything was good and wholesome!

My Friend,
I am so sorry that you did not have a great liking to this candy bar. I grew up on the east coast and yes they are very prevelant there and very plentiful. I now live in Hawaii and am having the darndest time to find some east coast here. For a while I was finding them at Price Busters but alas the last time I was there no more . I asked and was told that they probably would not be getting more. So I am bummed.

I am a baby boomer and remember this candy bar being very good; full of flavor with creamy milk chocolate shell and segments full of yummy fudge, white nougat, peanut cream, and caramel. I found them recently, also, at the country store area of a Cracker Barrel restaurant and bought one to try. It was awful. The chocolate is waxy, the segments are smaller with less filling, and the peanut filling is nothing like it used to be. I'm sorry you could not have had an original.

I had the same reaction to this bar. It just isn't that good, which is too bad as I like to support the little candy companies.

I totally agree. I stumbled across one of these last summer. I love the concept, but it just wasn't that tasty.
