Endangered Species Chocolate is “Otter” this World!
It’s all in the name: Endangered Species Chocolate. I had to buy the chocolate… to support a good cause! And, how could I resist the otter? One of the big selling points of this chocolate is that the cocoa that is 100% ethically traded. “Endangered Species Chocolate (ESC) was founded in 1993 in effort to spread awareness and to make an impact on the growing number of plant and animal species that are disappearing from Earth. Since then the mission has grown to embrace a new definition of ‘endangered’ - that all species, habitat and humanity are endangered on our planet, not just animals on a list. 10 percent of our net profits are donated to help support species, habitat and humanity.”
Monkeys, bats, gorillas, tigers, elephants, tortoises, whatever your favorite animal, there is one coupled with a milk or dark chocolate and stares with eyes that draw you near. Check out the website, as it provides more information that I could ever include here. The company, the chocolate, conservation efforts and awareness, and a very interesting blog; make sure you have some time to sift through it all. Educational and tasty? What a combo!

Thanks for the glowing recommendation! It’s nice to see the otter get some props - with the popularity of dark chocolate, milk chocolate has been living in the shadows lately. I just had to suggest that you try one of our newly re-formulated milk chocolate bars. Since we recently change our all-natural cocoa source, we had to adjust the recipe. Just when you thought it was as good as it could get, we improved the flavor! You’ll know it’s a new bar by the fact that it’s in a vertical wrapper rather than horizontal. They’ll be available in Walgreen’s in October. I hope you’ll try one, but be careful - it’s addictive!
